A confusion of Aims…
“A perfection of means and a confusion of aims seems to be our problem” – Einstein
I don’t know the original context but I ran across this quote attributed to Einstein recently and I like it. To my mind is sums up much of the situation we find ourselves in. Dang, we can do to tons of things really well. Yet, do we know why or for what?
Most companies can make most anything if the money is right. Here is the catch… most companies don’t know what customers want so they build stuff and gamble. It is slowly changing with a turn to focus on user centered design but it is still with us.
What are you aiming for? Do you have great means and no aim. Which would you rather have? Perfect means or perfect aims if you can only have one?
