Messy desks are easy to see. Messy desktops on our computers are easy to ignore.
Poorly functioning store layouts and work environments are easy to see. Poorly functioning websites and content strategies are easy to ignore.
Because it’s easy to ignore does not mean it’s unimportant for your goals, your team or your customer.
Insight
There must be someway that designers and clients can experience the difficult points of a design process before there is a high stake to derail collaboration for the best solution. Both parties could learn about each other then work for a better solution than if they had not done the Pre-Project Project.
Possible Solution
As a pre-phrase, [...]
Bus as Car Replacement Transportation? Not quite yet, but it could be.
I got on a Metro Transit (Minneapolis and Saint Paul) bus not knowing where it was going or how to use it a number of times in the last month. I have never ever had the problems I have had in my own city [...]

Build in the reuse of the package and make it social by including postage right on the package. Every package of each glass of wine could be a stamped envelope ready to be reused.

Rss feeds are plethora. The time has come, lets make this RSS thing a competition.
I read 100’s of rss instances most every day. Some of them are great, some of them are… well… to my mind, so-so. Maybe this feed is that way for you, I don’t know. I want, and maybe you do to, a graphical [...]
Today, I decided I had had enough. I finally decided that my attempts at simplicity had just got to complex. This thing intended to make reading blogs simple, rss ( really simple syndication) was just a monster in my Safari browser.
Recently, I started following quite-a-few more feeds. Safari shows numbers in the bookmarks bar for [...]

Broken,
Design.
I once herd an administrator at a revered design school talk about the goal of the school being the redefinition of “design.” He said they were intent on changing the role of designers. In the past designers found their place at the end of the process deciding how to make things look good. To this [...]

Einestein was rational… but it was often because of day dreaming and abduction (a best guess). Maybe it could help you too.
Designers are often charged with needing to prove the future they propose before they are given the money and means to move forward. It is as if the worst possible outcome of the change [...]
Broken: my Target experience
So, in my house I now refer to Target as the war zone. In all reality however, I have an affection for Target but dang it can be hard to go there. If I have five things on my list when I go there I have 5 wars to fight with Target. [...]

At Citrus we really like Innovation. Innovation brings better futures to reality by understanding concepts and contexts and needs and finding ways to accomplish tasks in new and value creative ways.
We bumped across a house that embodies some of these characteristics architecturally in its windows and stair cases.
In place of trees the architect specked window stickers (I [...]

I got a new snowboard and bindings recently. In case your wondering, wow, yes it does make a huge difference. Sharp edges and higher performance materials make a massive impact on the responsiveness of the board and the experience of the rider! It leads me to wonder about how the metaphor relates to change in business. You?So, when snowboarding started [...]
