Gilt.com has a list of people who purchase from them. They know of that list how many of the purchases are returned.
Gilt just made an iPad app that re-imagines what it means to shop a digital store (electronic commerce). They’ve built easier ways to see many photos, photos zoomed in very closely and what [...]

John Winsor and Alex Bogusky have written a book titled Baked In that posits a way forward for products and marketing working together. I enjoyed the doodles throughout and fully agree with the principles of learning by doing and prototyping often. Check out the book’s blog at http://www.bakedin.com for an example of the principles of [...]

Buy the expensive toilet paper or look bad. Design and cheep buyers of supplies put many companies at odds with themselves. While companies spend huge money on branding and do a great job like Home Depot and Crate and Barrel they also skim where most customers could really use some help, the restroom.

In the past designers found their place at the end of the process deciding how to make things look good. To this [...]

Einestein was rational… but it was often because of day dreaming and abduction (a best guess). Maybe it could help you too.
Designers are often charged with needing to prove the future they propose before they are given the money and means to move forward. It is as if the worst possible outcome of the change [...]
Broken: My basmati rice package
When you open the package per their directions you tear the instructions off! I guess is that it was good intentioned, to give instructions and all, but this is bad design on the graphic and package designers part. Bummer.
What are you working on that you can help be produced with the [...]

At Citrus we really like Innovation. Innovation brings better futures to reality by understanding concepts and contexts and needs and finding ways to accomplish tasks in new and value creative ways.
We bumped across a house that embodies some of these characteristics architecturally in its windows and stair cases.
In place of trees the architect specked window stickers (I [...]
